This forum is for people doing their first hackathons and Kaggle competitions. Ask the question you think is too basic; it probably is not.

- General: anything about competing and learning to build.
- Ideas & brainstorm: pitch an idea for a hackathon and get feedback before you spend a weekend on it.
- Kaggle help: data loading, baselines, cross-validation, submission format errors.
- Find teammates: say what you bring, what you need, your timezone and which competition. Every competition page on this site also has its own discussion box at the bottom.
Signing in
Use your PocketPlay account, the same one as on pocketplay.win (Google or username sign-in). The forum receives only your PocketPlay member id, display name, built-in avatar, when the account was created and whether it is linked to Google. Your password and email never reach the forum.
House rules
- Be kind to beginners.
- No spam, ads or affiliate links. All links are marked nofollow.
- Posting needs a PocketPlay account linked to Google. Accounts younger than 24 hours can read but not post yet; accounts younger than 7 days cannot post links yet.
- Use Report on anything off. Moderators review every report and can hide posts or ban accounts.
Formatting
Markdown works: bold, italic, inline code, fenced code blocks, lists, quotes and links written as [text](URL). HTML is not allowed.
Always confirm deadlines, rules and prizes on the official competition page; posts here are from participants, not organisers.
