Past winners in related hackathons
Winner-badged projects from ended Devpost hackathons that share a theme with this one. Read a few before you pick an idea.
- SafeHer — Not just the fastest route — the safest one (Zero Origin)
- RoofGrid — Turn any rooftop into a practical, data-driven solar plan. (InfinityX Global Hackathon 2K26)
- Skeptic — Every agent is handed tool documentation and told to trust it. This one doesn't. It experiments on its tools, learns what they really do, drops beliefs that stop being true, and publishes the spec. (Syndicate by Maximor)
- marko — AR maps for commercial spaces, built autonomously from floor plans and a single phone scan. (BigRed//Hacks 2026)
- CaptionForge — Audit, repair, and export accessible captions for online video. (Sound for All)
- Portage — Portage helps small Canadian businesses find their next export market. It ranks markets from official data, drafts the paperwork/emails to real buyers, and groups them to ship together. (Ascendance Foundry's Hackathon)
- Second Voice — A zero-training AI communication aid that turns unclear speech from people with dysarthria into clear, confirmable sentences using GPT-5.6, then speaks them aloud. (OpenAI Build Week)
- ScaleFlow — ScaleFlow dynamically scales cloud resources during traffic spikes, distributes workloads across healthy instances, monitors infrastructure, and enables automated failure recovery. (Zero Origin)
- MediAudit AI — Snap a photo of your confusing medical bill and then MediAudit AI turns it into plain English, a checklist, and the exact words to say, so anyone can question an unfair charge. (InfinityX Global Hackathon 2K26)
- Loop — An agent that closes the loop on its own mistakes, remembering what worked and skipping what didn't, run after run. (Syndicate by Maximor)
- HoloTouch — make J.A.R.V.I.S a reality on YOUR computer! (BigRed//Hacks 2026)
- Meta-Cognitive SignBridge — Medical-grade multimodal AI platform for the DHH community—real-time sign language translation, emergency communication, and legal document accessibility powered by Gemini 3 Pro's reasoning engine. (Sound for All)

Criteria as listed on the official page; weights are not stated there, so they are drawn equal. source ↗
How well is the project built, and how effectively does it use the required tech? Does it effectively leverage the required APIs, SDKs, or device capabilities for the specified track or mini-challenge?
Does the project deliver a complete, coherent product experience? Is the interaction model intuitive and well-considered for the target device or platform?
Does the project make a credible, specific case for solving customer needs? Could it realistically serve an audience beyond the hackathon?
Is this a creative, imaginative use of the required tools? Does the team demonstrate a genuine understanding of the developer ecosystem and the end-user needs within their chosen track?

How a beginner can ship
- Read the rules page
Check eligibility, team rules and what must be submitted.
- Pick one idea from the word cloud
Choose one problem and one user; cut everything else.
- Build the smallest working version
One flow that works end to end beats five half features.
- Record the demo early
Most Devpost judging leans on the video and description.
