Judging criteria
Criteria as listed on the official page; weights are not stated there, so they are drawn equal. source ↗
How thoroughly and skillfully does the project use GitLab to automate the post-code DevSecOps lifecycle? Does the code and pipeline config reflect genuine effort and a working, non-trivial implementation?
Does the project deliver a complete, coherent end-to-end workflow, not just a technical proof of concept?
Does the project make a credible, specific case for solving a real problem for a real audience — and does the solution actually address that problem based on what's demonstrated?
How creative and novel is the concept and how inventively does it apply agentic automation compared to existing concepts?
Does the video clearly demonstrate the automation running end-to-end? Does it communicate what problem is solved, who it's for, and why it matters? Is the overall presentation easy to follow?

How a beginner can ship
- Read the rules page
Check eligibility, team rules and what must be submitted.
- Pick one idea from the word cloud
Choose one problem and one user; cut everything else.
- Build the smallest working version
One flow that works end to end beats five half features.
- Record the demo early
Most Devpost judging leans on the video and description.
